![]() When I tell it to take a snapshot, it looks like it modifies the vmsd file based on it's modified date/time, but that's it. Machine is powered off (was logically shut down). The datastore is VMFS 5.54, maxium file size 2.00TB, Block site 1MB (was originally setup this way, not converted from old version).Īll the files in the vm folder look like the proper name "mymachine.xxx" (vmx/vmf/vmsd/nvram/vmdk). All other files in it's directory as less than 1mb. The vm in question, vmdk file is just over 8gigs. The data store consists of 1 2tb sata drive and has plenty of space (1.7TB free). The maximum size supported by datastore ' ![]() ![]() I see an error within a few seconds in the vSphere Client: Create virtual machine snapshotįile mymachine/mymachine.vmx is larger than I have a couple VMWare ESXi 5 servers, and on both of them I am unable to take a snapshot of one of my virtual machines (have tried moving the vm from one to the other).
